Bahrain's Stack event draws 31,000 visitors

More than 31,000 visitors from the region attended the just-concluded Stack event, held in collaboration with Lego, in Bahrain.

The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), organizer of the event, termed it as a huge success.

The event was held at the Bahrain International Exhibitions and Convention Centre between July 4 and 8.

“We are extremely pleased with the success achieved from the Stack event, which attracted 31,000 visitors coming in from neighbouring GCC countries. The unique event provided a fun-filled tourist attraction in Bahrain during the busy season of the Eid holidays,” said BTEA chief executive officer Shaikh Khalid bin Humood Al Khalifa.

"Hosting such international events comes as part of our long-term strategy to develop the kingdom’s tourism sector under the umbrella of ‘Ours. Yours’, which contributes towards the development of the kingdom’s economy and is in line with the 2030 Vision. The Stack event also aimed to further strengthen the position of the kingdom as an ideal tourist destination,” he added.

The Stack event provided an educational content that catered for a wide audience. It gave children and adults the opportunity to work together and use the Lego bricks as a fun and educational tool while enjoying the different activities in a fun-filled atmosphere.

The event covered an area of 3,515 sq m for the main activities, including the display of huge Lego models and a creation zone, and an additional area of 350 sq m dedicated to food stalls, rest areas, information desks, and a Lego retail store.

With more than 100,000 bricks of all shapes, sizes and colours, families were able to enjoy building different Lego models and sets. The 3,515 sq m area was divided into several entertainment zones, such as “Build A City” where visitors got the chance to build famous landmarks from around the globe. It also included the Souq, Mosaic, Desert Pit, a cinema that played the latest Lego films, and other fun activities.

In addition, the event provided an educational and competition area where visitors were able to challenge their skills and enhance their experience. The event dedicated areas to exhibit characters of the famous international movies such as Ice Age, Disney Princesses and others. – TradeArabia News Service
