Voivenel ranked among most influential hoteliers in Mena

Laurent A. Voivenel, senior vice president, Operations and Development for MEA and India, Swiss-Belhotel International, has been ranked among the top 25 hoteliers in the Mena hospitality industry by Hotelier Middle East for the fourth consecutive year.

The annual Hotelier Power 50 list recognises and celebrates the region’s 50 most influential hotel professionals.
Expressing his delight on this achievement, Voivenel said: “It is wonderful to be recognised by the region’s most prestigious and reliable trade publication. It is a great resource for our industry providing key industry insights and business trends. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire team of Hotelier Middle East who puts in tremendous effort and energy in bringing out this amazing list. I would also like to congratulate all fellow hoteliers who made it to the list.”

With more than 32 years of experience, including 17 in the Middle East, Voivenel is focused on accelerating the growth of Swiss-Belhotel International in the region.

Elaborating on the company’s expansion in the region, Voivenel said: “We have identified the Middle East, Africa and India as the key growth markets for us and have got an aggressive expansion strategy that is aimed at giving more choice to our guests with new destinations and products. Currently we have more than 3,500 rooms under development in high-growth markets in the Middle East such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Egypt and Bahrain in addition to our existing hotels. Given our strong regional experience and international expertise we are ideally placed to meet the varied expectations of these markets.”

Since the time Voivenel took over office in April 2017, Swiss-Belhotel International has announced the following projects in Bahrain, Kuwait, Egypt and Jordan.

2. April 25, 2017: Swiss-Belresort Marseilia Beach 4 in Egypt
3. May 24, 2017: Swiss-Belboutique Bneid Al Gar and Swiss-Belresidences Al Sharq in Kuwait
4. June 22, 2017: Swiss-Belresidences Juffair in Bahrain
5. July 16, 2017: Grand Swiss-Belresort Tala Bay Aqaba in Jordan
6. August 8, 2017: Marina Plaza Hotel by Swiss-Belhotel. - TradeArabia News Service
